Palenque Mexico

Palenque ligger i Chiapas og er en by berømt for ruinerne af en Maya-by, der daterer sig fra omkring 600 til 800 e.Kr. og blev en UNESCO Verdensarvssted i 1987. Dens mange indgraverede stenplader, indviklede basrelief skulpturer, indlagte masker og andre bemærkelsesværdige udsmykninger giver Palenque en aura af fortryllelse og hellighed.
